NOSE THREADS
A nose thread lift is a nasal augmentation procedure using polydioxanone (PDO) threads that are 100% bio-compatible and absorbable by our bodies. Also, depending on the person, 6-10 threads may be used for lifting the nose bridge and 3-8 threads may be used to the area of the nose tip.
The threads used in the nose thread lifts are 3.8 – 5cm or 5-7 cm in length and they are inserted and placed on the nasal bridge or into the columella. This is to shape the exact nose shape, height and definition that the person wants. The effect comes into place from the “stacking” effect of the numerous threads. Nose thread lifts are just like a surgical nose job, except the implants are dissolvable within a year or two.
WHAT ARE THE THREAD LIFTS MADE OF?
The threads that are used in the nose thread lifts are known as polydioxanone (PDO) threads. These PDO threads are safe and have been used for medical procedures for a very long time. These threads also have the ability to fully dissolve over time.
There are many types of PDO threads and they can be divided into floating threads, non-barbed threads and barbed threads. These threads come in different thicknesses and lengths. Also, they affect the quality, effectiveness, tensile strength and price of your treatment.
